IMO Sulphur Regulations – Ensuring Compliance with Cleaner Standards
The International Maritime Organization (IMO), under Annex VI of the MARPOL Convention, has set strict limits on sulphur oxide (SOx) emissions to reduce air pollution from ships.
  • Since 2015, vessels operating in Emission Control Areas (ECAs) must use fuel with a sulphur content no higher than 0.10%.
  • Since 2020, the global sulphur limit has been reduced to 0.50%, applying to all vessels outside ECAs.
At WESKROG, we support shipowners and operators in meeting these regulations through expert consultancy, retrofitting solutions, and compliance strategies tailored to each vessel.
We perform onboard survey and 3D laser scanning to avoid losing time and measurement discrepancies.
Data generated by a 3D laser scan is used to model the chosen or shortlisted systems into the existing space.
Norwegians were the first Europeans to be concerned about the protection of the environment.
